Yana = Sanskrit for "vehicle on the path to enlightenment"
We have owned Yana since 2002, but are putting her up for sale due to lack of time to sail her. We have done a lot of coastal sailing in Maine and off Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We have taken her to Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick. Most of the work we have done or had done on Yana has been mechanical, and she is a solid, reliable vessel, with a fine nearly new 55 HP engine, and several recent additions to the electronics and navigation systems, including radar, GPS and autopilot. The dodger added in 2005 was made by one of the best canvas guys in the region at Mainely Canvas in Harpswell. What is left to be done is cosmetic. The teak needs some attention, and she is ready for a new sail cover. But she could be sailed with no additional work, other than checking the fluids and launching her. She was last sailed in 2007.
