This Westsail has been completely renovated to professional standards. All that needs to be done is to add your choice of new electronics and some personal equipment, and you have essentially a new boat. I purchased much of the new equipment, such as the engine, tanks, bowsprit, boomkin, and rigging from Bud Taplin at Worldcruiser. I also managed to have him come to the boat and oversee the installation of all of these parts, to make sure that they were properly installed. I am sure that if you contact him regarding this restoration, he will assure you that the work was done properly.

The vessel has been completely rewired and replumbed, with all new tanks and hoses. The engine, transmission, drive train, and exhaust system are all new. The bowsprit and boomkin are new stainless steel. All hatches have been replaced. The exterior fiberglass has been repainted with Awlgrip, the teak refinished, and the bottom epoxy barrier coated. The interior has been refinished and painted, and the cushions are new.

Accommodations:

The galley is U-shaped and located on the port side aft and the nav station is opposite to starboard with drawers under and a hanging locker. Going forward is the head compartment to port and a chest of drawers and hanging locker to starboard. A large double berth is to port in the forward cabin, with storage under and a single berth to starboard. A rope and chain locker is located at the forepeak. The engine is located aft under the cockpit floor, with the companionway steps removable and drop boards for access into the engine room.
